ILINCA GOIA

Born in Bucharest, Romania, she graduated from the Film and Theatre Academy in her hometown. She studied for a few years at the San Diego University in California as well as at The " Old Globe " Theatre. She then graduated from the American Musical and Drama Academy in New York (1993 - 1994, 1996). She acted at the " Pod " Student 's Theatre between 1987 - 1990. In 1988 she became an actress at the National Theatre in Bucharest. She has performed many important roles, as part of various student projects, in plays by Shakespeare, Wilder, Caragiale, Delavrancea, Kiritescu. She made her debut at the National Theatre in Bucharest in Gorki 's Vassa Jeleznova (1987). Her repertoire includes plays by Eschil - Sofocles - Euripides, Tchekhov, Wasserman, Caragiale, V. Nicolau, D. Sa raru, directed by Andrei Serban, Grigore Gonta, I on Cojar, Gelu Colceag, Yuri Krasovski. She has also collaborated with the Nottara Theatre in plays by Ibsen, Shaw, Schnitzler, K. Gabor, Mazilu (directed by Dominic Dembinski, Felix Alexa, Alexandru Repan etc. ), as well as the " Eugene O 'Neill " Romanian - American Theatre (1995 )in Lanford Wilson 's play The Fifth of July , directed by Elliot Swift.
