DAVID ARONSON

Born in New York, US, he studied piano and conducting at music schools in Manhattan and Potsdam, New York. He made his debut in New York as accompanying musician and vocal coach for various vocal artists. He then performed as assistant conductor with opera companies in Kansas City, Lake George and Miami. In 1978 he moved to Zürich where he very soon gained reputation as vocal coach with the International Opera Studio, as assistant to the choir master as well as conductor with the Zürich Opera. In 1982 he was kapelmaestro with the Theatre in Lucerne where he conducted over 40 opera, operetta and ballet scores. At the same time he conducted in Darmstadt, Stuttgart, Aix - en - Provence and was assistant to Herbert von Karajan at the Salzburg Festival. In 2000, he made his debut at the Staatsoper in Vienna (where he had been performing since 1991)as accompanying musician (piano)during tours by this famous company in Tokyo, Jerusalem, Ravenna. As vocal coach he worked with great artists such as Walter Berry, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Bryn Terfel, Renée Fleming, Neil Schicoff. For more than five years he worked directly with Riccardo Mutti (preparing the production of Mozart 's work based on librettos by Da Ponte). He also toured Japan cu Seiji Ozawa (2004)as pianist. A world class accompanist he sustained numerous recitals in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Poland, Italy, Israel, Cyprus and the US.
