CLAUDIU BLEONT

Born in Bucharest, Romania, he graduated from Film and Theatre Academy. He became a member of the National Theatre in Bucharest (1978 - 1998), performing in plays by Sofocles, Aristofanus, Terentiu, Shakespeare, Eco, Miller, Cehov, Camus, Wasserman, Goethe, Pirandello, Sorge, Brecht, Delavrancea, E. Ionescu, Sebastian, D. Sa raru, V. Nicolau, directed by Andreea Vulpe, Beatrice Rancea, Grigore Gonta , Felix Alexa, Andrei Serban, Nicky Wolcz, Horea Popescu, Anca Ovanez, Alexa Visarion, Alice Barb, Dan Pita. He also participated in various festivals and tours in the UK, Italy, France, Portugal, Greece, Brazil etc. At the same time he collaborated with the Bulandra Theatre in Bucharest and with the Union of Theatres in Europe (1991) for Desteptarea primaverii by Wedekind, directed by Liviu Ciulei, with the Comedy Theatre in Bucharest (1981 - 1982)in plays directed by Ca ta lina Buzoianu and Ion Cojar, with the Theatre in Petro sani (also as director)etc. From 1995, he was a guest star in five shows set up in Hungary by Beatrice Rancea as part of the unique projects designed for the Hungarian Theatre Festival. As of 1997 he started to appear again in nine moving pictures directed by Cristian Dra gan, Lucian Pintilie (presented at Cannes), Dan Pita, Mircea Veroiu etc., being also invited to act in movies made in Hungary or in international productions. His artistic performances were awarded the Prize for the Best Theatre Actor (2000)and movie performer (1983, 1985), the Fipresci Prize - New Delphi. He appeared in plays by Shakespeare and Caragiale as part of TV theatre productions.
